Permanent hair reduction using a medical-grade diode laser that targets the melanin pigment in the hair follicle through selective photothermolysis while a built-in cooling system protects the surrounding skin. At Arsderma the protocol is set by trained staff after assessing skin phototype and hair density, and the laser is safe for skin types I–V. A free initial skin assessment and test patch are included. Sessions are priced per area, with a 5-session package available at 15% saving.
Laser hair removal works on the principle of selective photothermolysis: the laser emits light at a wavelength selectively absorbed by the melanin pigment in the hair shaft and follicle, converting to heat that disables the follicle's growth function, while the surrounding skin and tissue are left intact. A contact-cooling system chills the skin surface during each pulse, protecting the epidermis and making the treatment comfortable even on sensitive areas. Arsderma uses a diode-platform laser configured for safe, effective treatment across skin phototypes I to V — the full range commonly seen in Central European patients, including those with naturally darker complexions. Before the first session the team carries out a thorough skin assessment to record your phototype, hair colour and thickness, and the area to be treated, then sets the laser parameters accordingly and performs a test patch to confirm tolerability. Because hair grows in independent cycles and the laser only disables follicles actively in their growth (anagen) phase, a course of sessions spaced four to eight weeks apart is required to intercept hair at this phase across the entire area. The number of sessions needed varies by area and individual — facial areas typically require more sessions than the body because of hormonal influence on hair growth — but most patients see an 80–90% permanent reduction over a full course. During treatment you feel a rhythmic snapping or warming sensation as each pulse fires; the cooling handpiece reduces this to a brief mild sting. Immediately after, the treated skin may be slightly red or warm, settling within a few hours. It is normal to see treated hairs shedding over the following one to two weeks as the follicles deactivate. Between sessions the area should not be waxed, plucked or epilated (as the follicle must be intact to be targeted), but shaving or depilatory cream are fine up to two days before. Sun protection over treated areas is important, and the clinic advises avoiding direct sun or tanning for four weeks before and after sessions. A package of five sessions is offered at a 15% saving versus individual session prices, making it more economical to book a course upfront. Arsderma treats all common body and facial areas, and the team confirms suitability — including any skin or medication contraindications — at the initial assessment.
