About this treatment
A chemical peel uses a carefully chosen acid solution — such as glycolic or mandelic acid — to exfoliate the outer layers of the skin in a controlled way. By prompting the surface skin cells to shed and encouraging fresher skin beneath, peels are associated with improvements in radiance, smoothness, uneven tone and mild pigmentation, and can also help congested or blemish-prone skin depending on the acid used.
At Ars Estetica the skin is cleansed before the peel is applied and left on for a controlled time; you may feel mild tingling or warmth, and the solution is then neutralised or removed. Gentler superficial peels such as glycolic (from 110 zł) and mandelic (from 150 zł) usually cause only light flaking or a little redness for a few days, with minimal downtime, while stronger formulations produce more visible peeling.
