Lip Micropigmentation — Lip Blush

Type

Pigmentation

Duration

2 hours

Lip micropigmentation at AR aesthetics deposits semi-permanent pigment into the lips to restore, define, or subtly enhance their natural colour and shape. Two techniques are offered: Lip Blush 'La Nude' creates a sheer, transparent tint that makes lips look naturally fuller and more coloured without any detectable makeup effect — perfect for clients who want an imperceptible improvement. Aquarelle or Velvet Lips applies a richer watercolour pigment for a fresh, healthy, visibly kissed appearance. Both techniques use topical anaesthetic as standard and are performed by Alesia Rybak or Angelina. Certified German pigments are selected to complement the client's skin undertone. Results last 1–3 years; a mandatory correction at 30 days allows the artist to refine the colour after the initial healing.

The lips are one of the most technically demanding areas for micropigmentation because the skin is thinner than the brow or eyelid zone, the lip border is a critical anatomical line, and the final retained colour varies significantly by skin type and healing biology. AR aesthetics offers two distinct lip micropigmentation approaches to suit different expectations. Lip Blush 'La Nude' is designed to be imperceptible as makeup but noticeable as improvement. A translucent pigment tint is layered into the lip skin to restore the natural red-to-pink tone that fades with age, sun exposure, or hypopigmentation at the border. The result resembles lips that are simply hydrated and well-rested. This technique suits clients who want subtlety above all — the kind of enhancement that looks effortless but would be noticed if it disappeared. The 'La Nude' method requires precise shade matching to the individual's native lip colour. Aquarelle or Velvet Lips uses a more saturated pigment in a soft, blended application that produces the appearance of a fresh tint — somewhere between bare lips and a balm stain. The colour is visible but never harsh; the finish is clean and modern. This technique is the better choice for clients who want a consistently pigmented lip without having to apply lipstick or balm. Before any pigment is applied, the artist performs a full lip analysis: assessing border symmetry, vermillion definition, philtrum proportion, and skin undertone. Custom pigment mixing is done with the client present. The lip area is numbed with topical anaesthetic cream before the procedure begins. Pigment is built up in careful layers from the border inward, with the client able to see the developing result throughout. The 30-day healing cycle for lips is particularly important. The lips swell slightly in the first 24–48 hours and the colour looks intense. Over the following two weeks the pigment scabs and peels; during this phase the lips look pale and uneven. At day 30 the retained colour emerges — typically 30–50% lighter than immediately post-procedure — and the mandatory correction appointment allows the artist to add density or adjust tone where needed. Results last 1–3 years. Oily or very moist lip skin, frequent sun exposure, and smoking accelerate fading. Preparation: no lip fillers or augmentation procedures 2–3 weeks before the appointment. Any chemical peel or resurfacing treatment in the perioral area must be completed 28+ days before. Stop antibiotics 10 days in advance. Avoid the appointment if there is any sign of an active herpes labialis (cold sore) outbreak — an antiviral prescription before the session is advisable for clients with a history of oral herpes. Contraindications (absolute): active oral herpes at time of appointment, blood clotting disorders, active malignancy, epilepsy, hepatitis B/C, HIV/AIDS, chemotherapy, first-trimester pregnancy. Relative contraindications: pigment allergies, atopic dermatitis, systemic corticosteroid therapy, recent lip fillers or hyaluronidase, anticoagulant medications.
