Platelet-Rich Plasma (Regeneris)

Type

PRP/PRF Therapy

Duration

1 hour

Platelet-rich plasma uses a small sample of your own blood, spun to concentrate its platelets and growth factors, which is then injected to stimulate skin repair and rejuvenation. Because it is drawn entirely from you, it is well tolerated and a natural option for improving skin quality, tone and texture. A short course gives the most noticeable results, with maintenance once or twice a year.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma), offered here as Regeneris, is a regenerative skin treatment that draws on your own blood's healing components. A small sample is taken and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets, which carry growth factors that signal tissue repair and collagen production. This concentrated plasma is then injected into the skin — or combined with microneedling — to refresh tone, texture and firmness over the weeks that follow. At Klinika Anna Pikura the process of drawing the blood, preparing the plasma and treating the area takes around forty-five to sixty minutes, with numbing applied for comfort. Because the material is entirely your own, there is no risk of reacting to a foreign substance, which is part of why PRP appeals to people who prefer a natural approach. Expect mild redness or small bruises for a day or two. Results develop gradually as collagen remodels over several weeks, so a course of around three sessions spaced a few weeks apart is usually recommended, followed by maintenance once or twice a year. PRP is well suited to dull or tired skin, fine lines and overall skin quality, and can be combined with mesotherapy or microneedling for a stronger effect. Suitability is assessed beforehand; it is not performed in pregnancy or in certain blood or clotting conditions.
