Laser hair removal with the LightSheer system targets the pigment in the hair to reduce regrowth over a course of sessions, on areas from the upper lip and underarms to the legs, bikini and back. Each area is priced individually, so small zones such as the underarms are inexpensive while larger areas cost more. A series of treatments spaced several weeks apart gives the most durable reduction.
About this treatment
Laser hair removal uses pulses of light that are absorbed by the pigment in the hair shaft and follicle, converting to heat that disables the follicle's ability to produce new hair. Because hair grows in cycles and the laser is most effective on actively growing hairs, a course of sessions spaced several weeks apart is needed to treat as many follicles as possible during their growth phase and to achieve a lasting reduction rather than temporary removal.
At Klinika Anna Pikura the treatment is delivered with the LightSheer diode laser, and the clinic also offers other laser hair-removal options. Sessions are quick for small areas such as the upper lip or underarms and longer for the legs, back or torso; a cooling sensation accompanies each pulse and most people tolerate it well.
