Hyaluronic acid fillers used to soften the deeper folds and hollows that develop with age — the lines running from nose to mouth, the marionette lines below the corners of the mouth and the tear-trough under the eyes. The gel restores support where the face has lost volume, smoothing the area rather than simply masking a line. Because it is hyaluronic acid, the result can be dissolved if you ever want to adjust or reverse it.

About this treatment

Cross-linked hyaluronic acid filler replaces volume and support in the places the face tends to lose them, which is often what drives a deepening fold or a tired, hollow look. At Klinika Anna Pikura the most commonly treated areas are the nasolabial folds between the nose and mouth, the marionette lines that run down from the corners of the mouth, and the delicate tear-trough beneath the eyes where shadowing and hollowing can make the face look fatigued.

Treatment begins with an assessment of the area and a discussion of how much correction is realistic. Numbing is used for comfort and most fillers also contain lidocaine; the gel is placed with a fine needle or a blunt cannula depending on the region, and results are visible immediately, continuing to settle over one to two weeks as any swelling resolves.
