Dr Anna Kępka performing a facial injectable treatment

Type

PRP/PRF Therapy

Duration

1 hour

Platelet-rich plasma (here using the CGF concentrated growth factor system) draws a small sample of your own blood, spins it to concentrate its platelets and growth factors, and reintroduces it to the skin to stimulate repair and rejuvenation. Because it is derived entirely from you, it is well tolerated and a natural option for improving skin quality. Several CGF formulations are offered, and a short course gives the most noticeable results.

Platelet-rich plasma is a regenerative skin treatment that uses your own blood's healing components. A small sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets, which are rich in growth factors that signal tissue repair and collagen production. This clinic uses the CGF (concentrated growth factors) approach, offering CGF One, CGF Liquid and the richer CGF Harmony preparations; the concentrated plasma is injected into the skin or worked into the surface to rejuvenate tone, texture and firmness. The full process — blood draw, preparation and treatment — takes around forty-five to sixty minutes, with numbing cream applied for comfort. Because the material is entirely your own, there is no risk of allergy to a foreign substance, which makes it a popular choice for patients who prefer a natural approach. Expect mild redness or small bruises for a day or two. Results build gradually as collagen remodels over several weeks, so a course of a few sessions spaced several weeks apart is usually recommended, with maintenance once or twice a year. It is well suited to dull or tired skin, fine lines and thinner skin such as the area under the eyes, and combines well with mesotherapy and energy-based treatments. Suitability is assessed beforehand; it is not performed during pregnancy or in certain blood or clotting conditions.
