Laser treatment of unwanted blood vessels — broken facial capillaries, leg spider veins and microvarices, vascular birthmarks and the redness of rosacea — using Velure S5 (532 nm) and S9 (940 nm) vascular diode lasers. The laser light is absorbed by haemoglobin in the vessel and heats it so it collapses and is reabsorbed, while the surrounding skin is spared. About this treatment
Vascular laser treatment selectively targets unwanted blood vessels by tuning the light to a wavelength strongly absorbed by haemoglobin, the red pigment in blood. Preparation required
After treatment avoid strong UV for at least 2 months and use SPF 50+. Avoid overheating the area (sauna, vigorous sport, alcohol) for about 2 weeks.
