Skinboosters are a form of mesotherapy that delivers fine deposits of lightly cross-linked hyaluronic acid into the dermis to draw and hold water in the skin. Rather than reshaping or volumising like a conventional filler, the goal is to improve the skin's intrinsic hydration, smoothness and elasticity from within, giving a fresher, better-quality surface over time. Restylane Skinboosters use a lightly cross-linked hyaluronic acid (Restylane VITAL, or the lighter VITAL Light) injected intradermally; the recommended start is two to three sessions two to four weeks apart, with maintenance every six months. Neuvia Organic Hydro Deluxe combines hyaluronic acid with hydroxyapatite plus the amino acids glycine and proline — building blocks of collagen — and is given as a series of four sessions at three-week intervals, with one 5 ml pack covering the whole face and maintenance every six months. Because the product is placed superficially in many small points, the experience is a series of brief pinpricks; mild redness and small raised bumps where the gel is deposited are normal and typically settle within a day or so. The treatment suits people whose main concern is dull, dehydrated or crepey skin, fine surface lines, or loss of the natural glow that comes with ageing, sun exposure or smoking, and who want gradual quality improvement rather than added volume.
