Removal of moles, skin tags and other benign skin lesions, preceded by a free dermatoscopic examination with a Heine dermatoscope. At Ambulance estetické dermatologie MUDr. Mojmír Müller lesions can be removed by laser (vaporised or excised with the CO2 or diode laser, with no bleeding and no sutures) or by surgical methods such as sharp-spoon abrasion, cryocautery or radiocautery — also suture-free. Histology can be arranged when a sample needs laboratory assessment.
Removal of moles and other skin lesions at Ambulance estetické dermatologie MUDr. Mojmír Müller always begins with a dermatoscopic examination using a Heine dermatoscope, which magnifies and illuminates the lesion so the dermatologist can assess its structure and decide whether it is suitable for cosmetic removal or warrants further investigation; this examination is provided free within the consultation. For lesions cleared as benign, two suture-free approaches are offered. Laser removal uses the CO2 laser Slim E30 or the Velure S5 diode laser to vaporise or precisely excise the lesion with little or no bleeding and without stitches, which tends to give a clean cosmetic result; the first lesion is treated at a set price and additional lesions in the same session cost less each. Surgical and physical methods include sharp-spoon (curette) abrasion, cryocautery (freezing) and radiocautery (radiofrequency cutting/sealing) — all performed without sutures and well suited to small raised lesions such as skin tags. Local anaesthesia is available as an injection or as a topical preparation (EMLA cream or 12% lidocaine in Pentravan) so the procedure is comfortable, and where a lesion needs laboratory confirmation a histology sample can be sent for dermatohistopathological assessment. Removal is best planned outside the warm, sunny months, because UV exposure affects healing for two to three months and can cause the treated site to pigment. The service suits people wanting cosmetic removal of benign moles, skin tags, seborrhoeic keratoses or similar lesions, or assessment of a lesion they are unsure about. Importantly, any lesion that looks atypical on dermatoscopy is referred for proper evaluation rather than simply removed cosmetically, and the dermatologist reviews suitability, the most appropriate method and contraindications before proceeding.
