Permanent hair reduction using a Candela GentleLase Pro-U alexandrite laser, one of the gold-standard systems for the 755 nm wavelength. The laser light is absorbed by pigment in the hair root and converted to heat, destroying follicles that are in their active growth phase. At this Brno clinic the treatment is performed by a dermatovenerology specialist, MUDr. Mojmír Müller, with each session priced by area and a typical course of four to six sessions for common areas such as the underarms, bikini or calves. Dark, coarse hair responds best; light, grey or downy hair does not respond.
About this treatment
Laser hair removal works on the principle of selective photothermolysis: a precisely tuned beam of light is preferentially absorbed by the melanin pigment inside the hair shaft and follicle, where it converts to heat and disables the follicle's ability to regrow hair. Only follicles in the active (anagen) growth phase — roughly one in five at any given moment — are destroyed in a single pass, which is why a course of treatments spaced over time is needed…
A typical course for the groin, underarms or calves is four to six sessions at regular intervals; results are permanent once a follicle is destroyed, although hair that was dormant during earlier sessions may appear and require touch-ups. Preparation required
Do not pluck or wax for several weeks before (shaving or trimming is fine; shave the area closely on the day). Avoid lotions, creams and antiperspirant for 12 hours before. Tanned skin is not suitable for the alexandrite laser. After treatment, avoid sun for 2–3 weeks and use SPF 50+.

Priced per single session by body area: upper lip 800 Kč, chin 1,200 Kč, full face 3,000 Kč, underarms (both) 1,500 Kč, forearms 3,000 Kč, bikini line 1,500 Kč, calves from 4,500 Kč, thighs from 8,000 Kč, back from 8,000 Kč.
