Ceramic Dental Veneers

Each veneer is individually fabricated in a dental laboratory to match the shape and shade prescribed by the dentist, delivering a natural-looking and durable aesthetic result.

Ceramic veneers are a conservative cosmetic dentistry solution for transforming the appearance of teeth with minimal removal of natural tooth structure. A veneer is a thin ceramic shell (typically 0.3 to 0.7 mm thick) bonded permanently to the facial surface of a tooth. **Indications:** Permanent staining unresponsive to whitening (tetracycline, fluorosis), chipped or cracked enamel, minor rotations or spacing, small or irregularly shaped teeth, and generalised wear from grinding. **Process:** The dentist takes shade measurements and discusses the desired outcome. A thin layer of enamel (usually 0.3 to 0.5 mm) is removed from the front surface of each tooth to accommodate the veneer thickness. Impressions or digital scans are sent to the laboratory, where the veneers are custom-fired in feldspathic or pressable ceramic. Temporary veneers are placed while the lab fabricates the permanents (typically 10 to 14 days). At the bonding appointment, the permanents are tried in, adjusted for fit, and bonded with composite resin cement under light-curing. **Durability:** Properly bonded ceramic veneers typically last 10 to 20 years with good oral hygiene and avoidance of habits that stress them (nail biting, opening packaging with teeth). A night guard is recommended for patients who grind.
