Treatment is performed under local anaesthesia and typically requires two stages: implant placement followed by crown fitting after 3 to 6 months of osseointegration.

Dental implants are the gold-standard solution for replacing missing teeth — they replicate the full tooth structure from root to crown and are the only replacement option that prevents bone loss at the extraction site. Ambicare uses the Dentis implant system for placement. **Stage 1 — Implant placement:** Under local anaesthesia, the dental surgeon creates a precise channel in the jawbone and places the titanium implant fixture. Titanium is used because it is biocompatible and integrates directly with bone tissue (osseointegration). A healing cap or temporary cover is placed, and the gum is sutured. The placement procedure typically takes 60 to 90 minutes. **Osseointegration period:** Over 3 to 6 months, the bone grows around and bonds to the implant surface. During this period, a temporary restoration may be placed for aesthetics if needed. **Stage 2 — Crown fitting:** Once the implant is fully integrated, an abutment (connector post) is attached and a custom ceramic crown is fabricated and fitted. The final crown is matched to adjacent teeth in colour, shape, and size. **Longevity:** Dental implants, with good oral hygiene, can last a lifetime. The crown may require replacement after 15 to 20 years. **Bone grafting:** If insufficient bone volume exists at the implant site (common after long-term tooth absence), bone grafting may be required before or at the time of implant placement. The need for grafting is assessed via CBCT 3D X-ray (2,000 Kč) before treatment planning.
