Type
Ozone Therapy
Duration
35 min
The ozone bag (ozonový vak) delivers ozone gas directly to a specific body area — typically a limb, wound, or skin zone — by enclosing it in a sealed bag through which medical-grade ozone is circulated. The skin absorbs ozone transdermally, achieving high local ozone concentrations without systemic circulation. This makes the ozone bag the treatment of choice for skin conditions, chronic wounds, venous leg ulcers, acne, eczema, fungal infections, and post-injury tissue repair. At Amazing Medical the session runs for 30–45 minutes depending on the area treated.
The ozone bag (ozonový vak) is one of the oldest and most precisely localised forms of ozone therapy, adapted at Amazing Medical for targeted dermatological and wound-healing applications. The technique works by placing the affected limb, joint, or body area inside a sealed polyethylene bag; ozone gas at a calibrated therapeutic concentration is then fed into the bag and circulated continuously for the duration of the session. The ozone penetrates the skin surface transdermally, acting directly in the tissues underlying the treated area without entering the systemic circulation to any significant degree. The biological actions are primarily local: **Wound healing and tissue repair:** Ozone stimulates local blood flow and activates fibroblast proliferation and collagen synthesis in the treated zone, accelerating healing of chronic wounds, post-surgical sites, pressure ulcers, and traumatic injuries. This is the most clinically documented application of local ozone therapy in European integrative medicine. **Antimicrobial action:** Ozone is a potent oxidant with broad-spectrum bactericidal, virucidal, and antifungal activity at the contact surface. Applied to infected or colonised wounds (including methicillin-resistant bacteria), it reduces biofilm and surface pathogen load without systemic antibiotics. **Dermatological applications:** Direct ozone contact has shown benefit in acne vulgaris (by targeting Propionibacterium acnes and reducing sebaceous inflammation), atopic eczema, psoriatic plaques, and dermatophyte (fungal) infections of the skin and nails. Clients with chronically problematic skin in localised zones frequently report improved condition after a series of treatments. **Venous and lymphatic insufficiency:** For lower limb venous ulcers and diabetic foot lesions, the combination of improved local oxygenation, antimicrobial action, and angiogenesis stimulation makes the ozone bag a complementary intervention alongside standard wound care. At Amazing Medical the bag treatment is available for upper and lower limbs, the torso, or any localised skin zone requiring attention. Sessions last 30–45 minutes. The area should be clean and free of open wounds that are too large to safely enclose. No anaesthesia is required and the treatment is entirely painless — clients describe a mild warmth and a faint characteristic ozone scent. Contraindications: known ozone hypersensitivity, hyperthyroidism (systemic exposure remains very low but caution is applied), and active dermatitis of severe degree involving broken skin across a large portion of the bag-enclosed area.
