Light or laser energy is absorbed by the excess melanin in the spot, breaking it up so the body can clear it and the mark fades over the following weeks. About this treatment
Pigment-spot removal targets areas of excess melanin in the skin — including sun (solar) spots, age spots (lentigines) and some freckles — using light or laser energy. The energy is selectively absorbed by the concentrated pigment in the spot, heating and fragmenting it while sparing the surrounding lighter skin.
