Laser hair removal uses pulses of light absorbed by the pigment in the hair to heat and disable the follicle, reducing regrowth over a course of treatments. It can treat most areas of the face and body — upper lip, chin, underarms, bikini line, legs and back. About this treatment
Laser hair removal works on the principle of selective photothermolysis: a laser emits a wavelength of light that is preferentially absorbed by the melanin pigment in the hair shaft and follicle. The absorbed light converts to heat, which damages the follicle's ability to produce new hair while sparing the surrounding skin.
