CT Scan
Duration
30 min
A computed-tomography examination booked and coordinated through Altoa at an accredited partner facility. CT uses X-rays and computer reconstruction to build fast, detailed cross-sectional images, and is the modality of choice for bone, lung, acute findings and rapid organ surveys. Altoa selects the body region with you, books the appointment at a partner facility and escorts you on the day, with the partner radiologist issuing a written report. This is the base CT rate that recurs as an add-on across Altoa's preventive and oncology programs.
Computed tomography (CT) uses a rotating X-ray source and detector array with computer reconstruction to produce rapid, high-resolution cross-sectional images of the body. It excels where speed and bone or lung detail matter — chest and abdominal surveys, trauma, lung nodules, and acute presentations — and a typical scan acquires in seconds to a few minutes, making it well suited to clients who cannot tolerate the longer, enclosed MRI environment. The trade-off is that CT uses ionising radiation, so it is requested when its specific strengths are clinically justified. Altoa offers CT as a coordinated service: the 2 500 Kč rate appears both as the base CT examination and as the optional add-on that recurs across its preventive and oncology programs (for example CT chest, abdomen or pelvis within the cancer-screening pathway). You select the region with the coordinator, who books the study at a partner facility — Nemocnice Hořovice (AKESO) or the Multiscan oncology-radiology centre in Pardubice — and escorts you on the day; where you have no referral, a specialist-consult option ensures the scan is requested with the right protocol. On arrival you remove metal from the scanned region and lie on the table that moves through the ring-shaped gantry while you follow brief breath-hold instructions. Depending on the indication, intravenous iodinated contrast may be given to highlight vessels and organs, which requires checking kidney function and contrast-allergy history. The partner radiologist interprets the study and issues a written report. Preparation: bring your referral and prior imaging; disclose pregnancy (CT is generally avoided), contrast allergy, diabetes medication or kidney impairment if contrast is planned. CT findings should be interpreted alongside the clinical picture by the reviewing physician.
