ALMEDEA s.r.o. is one of the few dedicated hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) centres in the Ústí nad Labem region, operating continuously since its founding in 1996. The core facility at Mezní 19 houses a German-engineered Haux-Life-Support Starmed 2200/5.5/XL multi-place chamber capable of treating up to twelve seated or four recumbent patients per session, overseen by trained hyperbaric physicians. Treatment sessions run at 1.4 bar overpressure (equivalent to 14 metres underwater) while patients breathe 100% pure oxygen via half-mask for ninety minutes — a protocol that drives dissolved oxygen deep into tissues that circulating red blood cells cannot easily reach. The clinic holds an up-to-date Czech indication catalogue (updated 1 January 2026) covering both acute emergencies — including carbon monoxide poisoning, gas embolism, and decompression sickness — and a wide range of chronic conditions such as diabetic foot ulcers, post-radiation tissue damage, sudden sensorineural hearing loss, and avascular necrosis of the femoral head. Medical oversight is provided by MUDr. Kriška Peter and MUDr. Krišková Zdeňka, anaesthesiologists with specialist training in hyperbaric medicine. The centre operates around the clock, making it suitable for urgent referrals as well as planned treatment courses. A secondary pain clinic (Ambulance bolesti) operates from a separate address in nearby Teplice, giving patients in the broader Ústecký region access to the same medical team.
