The Lymfastim device provides sequential pneumatic compression therapy — an evidence-based, machine-assisted method for stimulating lymphatic flow and reducing tissue oedema. Inflatable sleeve chambers fill in a sequential wave pattern from the extremities toward the lymph nodes, mimicking the rhythmic pumping of manual lymphatic massage at a consistent, programmable pressure. The lymphatic system is responsible for draining excess interstitial fluid, immune cells, and metabolic waste from tissues back into venous circulation. When lymphatic flow is impaired — through prolonged inactivity, post-surgical oedema, chronic venous insufficiency, or systemic conditions — fluid accumulates in the interstitial space, causing swelling, heaviness, and impaired tissue repair. Sequential pneumatic compression therapy (SPCT) with the Lymfastim device addresses this by applying a graduated wave of pneumatic pressure through a series of chambers in a compression sleeve that covers the legs, arms, or abdomen. The wave begins distally (at the foot or hand) and progresses proximally toward the body, physically moving interstitial fluid and lymph toward the lymphatic trunks and nodes, where it re-enters circulation.
