Combined brain and orbital MRI in a single appointment at a package rate. Covers the full brain protocol plus dedicated orbital imaging for optic nerve, retrobulbar, and intraorbital pathology.
The brain plus orbits package combines the standard brain MRI with a dedicated orbital protocol, imaging the globes, optic nerves, extraocular muscles, orbital fat, and lacrimal glands in a single session at 13,800 CZK. This combination is clinically important because many orbital conditions — particularly optic neuritis, orbital tumours extending intracranially, and inflammatory orbital pseudotumour — require simultaneous brain and orbital assessment. The orbital component uses thin-section, high-resolution imaging with fat suppression to maximize contrast between orbital soft tissues. The radiologist evaluates optic nerve calibre, signal intensity, and enhancement pattern (when contrast is used); extraocular muscle size and signal for thyroid eye disease or myositis; and the orbital apex for masses or inflammation that might involve the cavernous sinus. This package is commonly ordered by ophthalmologists investigating acute visual loss, diplopia, proptosis, or orbital pain, and by neurologists in the workup of optic neuritis as part of multiple sclerosis evaluation. The combined imaging approach ensures no pathology at the brain-orbit interface is missed.
