Nemocnice AGEL Ostrava-Vítkovice a.s. stands as one of the most historically significant private hospitals in Central Europe. Unlike conventional CT or source-based spectral systems, the IQon acquires spectral data simultaneously at both low and high energies through a yttrium-based dual-layer detector, capturing full spectral information on every scan without special setup or protocol changes. This means spectral analysis is available retrospectively on any image, including scans acquired during routine or emergency workflows. The system uses Philips iMR (iterative model reconstruction), delivering 60–80% radiation dose reduction compared to conventional CT protocols while maintaining diagnostic image quality. Studies have demonstrated a 96% increase in diagnostic certainty for differentiating benign from malignant lesions compared to 30% with conventional CT.
