Surgical excision of skin lesions at AESTHGERY Plzeň is performed by plastic surgeon MUDr. Kamila Šormová with emphasis on safety, precise technique, and the best possible aesthetic outcome. It suits larger lesions (over 5–6 mm), suspicious or atypical moles requiring histological diagnosis, repeatedly irritated or bleeding growths, and fibromas, warts, cysts, or lipomas not removable by gentler methods. The outpatient procedure takes 15–40 minutes under local anaesthesia: the lesion is excised with a margin into healthy tissue, the wound closed with fine layered sutures, and the tissue sent for histology. Sutures come out after 7–14 days; scars fade to become discreet or nearly invisible within months. Each removal is preceded by a dermatological examination including dermatoscopy.
About this treatment
Removing a skin lesion surgically — rather than burning or freezing it — has two advantages: the complete lesion is available for histological examination, giving a definitive diagnosis, and in the hands of a plastic surgeon the closure can be planned for the best possible scar.
