The operation is performed under general anaesthesia through a periareolar incision — along the edge of the areola — keeping the final scar minimally visible. MUDr. Kamila Šormová combines tumescent liposuction to remove the fatty component with subcutaneous mastectomy to remove the firm glandular tissue. Drains are placed and removed after about five days, and elastic compression garments are worn for eight weeks to support healing.
