Vampirlifting at Ästhetikwelt Berlin is the practice's signature platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) facial, a form of autologous blood therapy (Eigenbluttherapie) used for facial rejuvenation. The treatment begins with a consultation in which Dr. med. Karsten Lange explains the procedure, assesses the skin and discusses risks and aftercare. Roughly 30 ml of the patient's own blood is then drawn and processed using a specialised preparation method to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich plasma. Where appropriate, the plasma can be enriched with additional components such as hyaluronic acid. The concentrate is injected through very fine needles so it is distributed evenly across the treated zones — typically the eye, cheek and forehead regions of the face, as well as the neck or décolleté. The platelet growth factors in PRP are associated with tissue regeneration and the stimulation of new collagen, which may support smoother, more revitalised-looking skin over time. No general anaesthesia is required; a numbing cream may be applied to the treated areas if needed, and the skin is cooled afterwards to limit swelling and bruising. The injection portion takes about 30 minutes, with the full appointment including blood draw lasting around an hour, and is performed on an outpatient basis. Patients can usually resume normal daily activities immediately, while avoiding sport, sauna and tanning beds for a short period. To support platelet vitality, patients are advised to stop taking pain and anti-rheumatic medication at least 3 — ideally 7 — days beforehand.
