Microneedling is a collagen-induction treatment that uses a device fitted with very fine needles — here the Reviderm SkinNeedler — to create a pattern of tiny, controlled micro-channels in the skin. These micro-injuries are superficial and heal quickly, but they prompt the skin's natural wound-healing response, which is associated with increased collagen and elastin production over the following weeks. The result, built across a course, can be smoother texture, firmer-looking skin and a softening of enlarged pores, fine lines and the appearance of acne scarring. A session typically takes around an hour including preparation. Afterwards the skin is usually pink and feels warm, similar to mild sunburn, for roughly twenty-four to forty-eight hours, during which gentle skincare and diligent sun protection are important.
