PRP Platelet Rich Plasma

Type

Facial Rejuvenation

Duration

45 min

Autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy harvested from the patient's own blood and injected intradermally to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, and accelerate tissue repair using the body's own growth factors.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy harnesses the patient's own biology to stimulate skin rejuvenation. The procedure begins with a simple blood draw (typically 20-30ml), which is then centrifuged to separate the platelet-rich plasma fraction from red blood cells and platelet-poor plasma. The resulting PRP concentrate contains growth factors (PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, EGF, and others) at concentrations 5-10 times higher than normal blood, which when injected into the skin trigger fibroblast proliferation, collagen synthesis, and angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels) in the treatment area. As an autologous treatment — derived entirely from the patient's own blood — PRP carries essentially no risk of allergic reaction or immune rejection. This distinguishes it from synthetic fillers and makes it suitable for patients who prefer biologically derived treatments or who have contraindications to synthetic products. The growth factors released by activated platelets closely mirror those involved in the body's natural wound healing cascade, effectively recruiting the same regenerative machinery in an aesthetic context. At Aesthetify, PRP is administered via precise intradermal micro-injections across the treatment area using fine needles. Common indications include generalised skin quality decline (dullness, fine lines, enlarged pores), under-eye hollowing and dark circles (where improved vascularisation produces visible brightening), acne scarring, and hair thinning. PRP can also be applied topically immediately after microneedling to enhance penetration and recovery. Results from PRP are gradual and cumulative — the collagen synthesis triggered by a single session takes 4-8 weeks to manifest as visible improvement. Most protocols involve 3 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart, followed by annual maintenance. The treatment pairs particularly well with Morpheus8 RF microneedling, which creates the microchannels that allow topically applied PRP to penetrate deeply.
