Lip Augmentation (Fat Transfer)

A surgical lip augmentation that uses the patient's own fat, harvested from elsewhere on the body and transferred to the lips to add lasting volume. Performed by Dr Dmytrzak, it offers an alternative to hyaluronic acid filler for patients who prefer to use their own tissue and want a more permanent result. Because it is autologous, it avoids introducing a foreign material into the lip.

Fat-transfer lip augmentation enhances the lips using the patient's own fat rather than a filler product. A small amount of fat is gently harvested from a donor area such as the abdomen or thighs, prepared, and then carefully placed into the lips to build volume and improve shape. Because the transferred tissue is the patient's own, the approach appeals to people who would rather avoid synthetic or animal-derived materials and who are looking for a longer-lasting outcome than temporary hyaluronic acid filler provides. At Aesthetic Med this is a doctor-performed procedure carried out by Dr Dmytrzak as part of the clinic's surgical practice, with appropriate anaesthesia and a recovery period. As with any fat-grafting technique, a proportion of the transferred fat is naturally reabsorbed in the weeks after treatment, so the final result becomes clear once healing is complete and a top-up is occasionally needed to reach the desired fullness. The lips and donor site may be swollen and bruised for a period afterwards, and aftercare instructions are provided.
