Botulinum toxin injected into the skin to reduce excessive sweating where antiperspirants are not enough — most often the underarms, palms or soles. The toxin temporarily blocks the nerve signals that switch on sweat glands in the treated area, noticeably reducing dampness, odour and the staining of clothing. About this treatment
Treatment of hyperhidrosis with botulinum toxin targets the localised overactivity of sweat glands. The toxin is injected just under the skin across a grid of points in the affected zone, where it temporarily interrupts the nerve signals that trigger sweating. The result is a marked, predictable reduction in sweat production in the treated area without affecting the body's overall ability to regulate temperature elsewhere.
At AESTETICA the area is first assessed and, for sensitive sites such as the palms or soles, numbing is used to improve comfort before a series of fine injections is placed across the region.
