Dermal Filler — Facial Volumetry (Hyaluronic Acid)

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers used to restore volume and definition where the face has flattened with age — cheeks, chin, jawline and the folds running from nose to mouth. Rather than only filling lines, the physician plans volumetry across the face so proportions stay balanced and natural. Treatments range from a single millilitre up to a multi-syringe plan, and the gel can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if an adjustment is ever needed.

Facial volumetry uses cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel to replace the deep volume gradually lost from the cheeks, temples, chin and jawline with age. Because that volume loss is part of what drives sagging and deepening folds, restoring it in the right places often does more for a refreshed appearance than treating individual lines. At AESTETICA the physician assesses the face as a whole and proposes a plan measured in millilitres — from a single 1 ml correction of the cheeks or chin up to a 2–3 ml approach for broader restoration across one or more sessions. Numbing cream is applied first, and most fillers also contain lidocaine for comfort. The gel is placed with a needle or a blunt cannula depending on the area; results are visible immediately and continue to settle over one to two weeks as any initial swelling resolves. Mild swelling, tenderness or small bruises are normal for a few days. Hyaluronic acid results typically last around nine to eighteen months depending on the product and the area treated before the gel is naturally broken down. A key advantage of hyaluronic acid is that it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, which allows a result to be adjusted or reversed. Volumetry is suited to adults noticing flattening of the cheeks, a less defined jaw or chin, or deepening nasolabial and marionette folds, and is often combined with other treatments as part of a wider facial plan.
