Nutrition Consultation
Duration
40 min
A 40-minute follow-up with the functional dietitian to assess progress on the nutrition plan, review any new laboratory results, and refine the dietary protocol. Recommended 4-8 weeks after the initial nutrition consultation.
The nutrition follow-up at Vitality Clinic is a 40-minute appointment designed to evaluate the patient's experience implementing the initial nutrition plan and to refine the protocol based on progress, new information, and any updated laboratory findings. Scheduled typically 4-8 weeks after the initial consultation, the follow-up is a critical part of the functional nutrition process — the initial plan is rarely final, and meaningful adjustments are almost always indicated once the patient has lived with the protocol for a period. The appointment begins with a structured progress review. The dietitian assesses which elements of the plan the patient has been able to implement, identifies any practical barriers that have emerged, and evaluates subjective changes in energy, digestion, mood, sleep, or other symptoms targeted by the initial protocol. This honest review of adherence and outcomes guides the direction of the follow-up — a patient who has implemented the plan faithfully but seen limited response warrants a different adjustment than one who has struggled with implementation for practical reasons. If new laboratory results have been received since the initial consultation — whether from standard Polish labs or from the international biomarker panels ordered by the functional medicine physician — the dietitian reviews these findings and adjusts the nutrition protocol accordingly. New evidence of gut dysbiosis, micronutrient deficiencies, inflammatory markers, or hormonal patterns may warrant a shift in dietary emphasis, additional therapeutic foods, or changes to supplementation recommendations. For patients following a phased protocol — such as an initial elimination phase followed by a structured reintroduction — the follow-up appointment often marks the transition between phases. The dietitian guides the patient through interpreting their elimination-phase experience, planning the reintroduction sequence, and interpreting their reactions to reintroduced foods. This careful, supervised reintroduction process is essential for accurately identifying true food sensitivities rather than drawing conclusions from anecdotal observation.
