Multiparametric 3T prostate MRI combining anatomical, diffusion-weighted, and dynamic contrast sequences for prostate cancer detection and staging according to PI-RADS guidelines.
UltraMR's multiparametric prostate MRI (mpMRI) is the most advanced non-invasive method for detecting clinically significant prostate cancer. The 3T field strength is particularly advantageous for prostate imaging, where the higher signal-to-noise ratio improves detection of suspicious lesions in the peripheral and transition zones. The protocol follows PI-RADS (Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System) standards, combining T2-weighted anatomical images for zonal anatomy and lesion morphology, diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) with apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps for detecting restricted diffusion in dense cellular lesions, and dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) sequences for assessing lesion vascularity and wash-in kinetics. Each lesion identified is scored on the PI-RADS 1-5 scale, with PI-RADS 4-5 lesions carrying a high probability of clinically significant cancer. This information guides urologists in deciding whether to proceed with targeted biopsy, active surveillance, or further investigation. The mpMRI can also detect extracapsular extension, seminal vesicle invasion, and lymph node involvement for staging in known cancer cases. At 1,600 PLN, this is one of the most cost-effective multiparametric prostate MRI options in Poland, particularly given the 3T platform.
