UltraMR's brain MRI uses the 3 Tesla MAGNETOM SPECTRA to produce detailed cross-sectional images of the brain, skull base, and surrounding structures. The higher field strength compared to 1.5T scanners improves signal-to-noise ratio, which translates to sharper visualization of grey-white matter boundaries, smaller lesions, and subtle vascular changes. The standard brain protocol covers axial, sagittal, and coronal planes with T1-weighted, T2-weighted, FLAIR, and diffusion-weighted sequences. This combination can identify space-occupying lesions, ischaemic changes, demyelination patterns, and congenital anomalies. For patients with specific clinical questions such as pituitary pathology, orbital disease, or vascular malformations, dedicated focused protocols are available as separate examinations. Results are interpreted by one of UltraMR's five diagnostic imaging physicians and delivered via email within three working days. Patients also receive image copies on CD or USB immediately after the scan. No doctor's referral is required for self-pay patients, making this accessible for proactive screening or second-opinion imaging.
