3T MRI for assessment of breast implant integrity, detecting rupture, capsular contracture, and silicone migration. No contrast required for implant evaluation.
The breast implant MRI at Sagena uses the 3T MAGNETOM Vida with silicone-sensitive sequences to evaluate implant shell integrity, detect intra- and extracapsular rupture, assess for capsular contracture, and identify silicone migration. The examination covers both breasts and the axillary regions. MRI is the most sensitive imaging modality for detecting breast implant complications, superior to both ultrasound and mammography. The 3T field strength provides improved signal-to-noise ratio for the silicone-specific sequences, enhancing detection of small intracapsular rupture signs such as the linguine sign and subcapsular line sign. At CZK 6,000 this examination is priced at the single-joint level, making it affordable for routine implant surveillance. Contrast enhancement can be added from CZK 1,200 if the radiologist suspects concurrent breast pathology requiring dynamic contrast assessment.
