HBOT Soft Chamber

Type

Hyperbaric Oxygen

Duration

1 hour

A 60-minute hyperbaric oxygen therapy session in a soft-shell chamber at mild pressure. The chamber delivers oxygen at above-atmospheric pressure to support enhanced oxygen dissolution into blood plasma, promoting recovery and cellular repair. Soft chambers operate at lower pressures than clinical hard-shell units, providing a gentle introduction to hyperbaric therapy.

The soft-chamber hyperbaric oxygen therapy session at Healthspan Recovery provides 60 minutes of pressurised oxygen exposure in a comfortable, flexible-walled chamber. Soft-shell chambers typically operate at 1.3 to 1.5 ATA (atmospheres absolute), a milder pressure level than medical-grade hard-shell units. This lower pressure still achieves meaningful increases in dissolved plasma oxygen, making it suitable for general wellness, recovery support, and those new to hyperbaric therapy. During the session, the chamber is gradually pressurised over the first few minutes. Clients may notice mild pressure in the ears, similar to the sensation during a flight descent, which is easily resolved by swallowing or gently pinching the nose and exhaling. Once at operating pressure, most people find the environment comfortable and relaxing. Many clients use the time to rest, meditate, or listen to music. The increased oxygen availability in the bloodstream may support the body's natural repair processes, help manage inflammation, and contribute to improved energy levels and mental clarity. Athletes and active individuals often use soft-chamber HBOT as part of a broader recovery protocol, pairing it with cryotherapy or compression therapy in the same visit. At $149 per session for non-members, the soft chamber is the more accessible of Healthspan Recovery's two hyperbaric options. Members on the monthly plan receive significantly reduced rates. The session requires no special preparation beyond wearing comfortable clothing and arriving a few minutes early for orientation if it is a first visit.
