The Comprehensive Skin Check is a head-to-toe assessment that combines clinical examination with total body photography to create a baseline map of every mole on your body. Australia has the highest rate of melanoma in the world, making regular skin surveillance particularly important for anyone living in or visiting the country. The check is performed by a trained melanographer (skin imaging specialist) who systematically photographs and catalogues your skin using dermoscopy — a technique that reveals structures beneath the skin surface invisible to the naked eye. Any suspicious lesions are imaged at high magnification and sent directly to a dermatologist for diagnosis. What makes this more valuable than a standard skin check is the photography baseline: when you return for future checks, the system compares current images against your stored baseline to detect changes in size, shape, colour, or structure — changes that are often impossible to spot with the naked eye over months or years. The assessment includes a comprehensive skin health report and 12 months of free unlimited mole checks. If you notice a new or changing mole between annual assessments, you can return at no additional cost for imaging and dermatologist review. This is recommended annually for all Australians, and every 6 months for those with a personal or family history of melanoma, many moles, or fair skin.
