Additional Information
Progesterone is an important female sex hormone; one of its key roles is to prepare the lining of the womb to receive a fertilised egg. Levels rise and fall throughout the menstrual cycle. In a standard 28-day cycle, ovulation occurs on day 14 (day 1 is the first day of your period). Following this, progesterone levels rise, peaking at day 21 (a level above 30nmol/L indicates ovulation). If your cycle is a different length, take the test 7 days before your next expected period. This test is useful for menstrual irregularity assessment, fertility evaluation, and early pregnancy monitoring.
